Take time to pause and reflect as we honour the natural rhythm of winter and turning of the
year through the energy of yin and sound. Through these mediums we are reminded of
nature’s interplay between rest and renewal and that growth often emerges from moments
of stillness and introspection.
There is strength in softness and as we surrender, we conserve energy for new creative
expressions. These moments are precious, allowing us to slow down, reconnect and honour
our deepest sense of self.
Winter is often described as the season of Yin yoga, a patient process of long held poses,
which allow us to gradually release our unconscious holding patterns. Drawn from the
tradition of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and energetics, this presents a
counterbalance amidst a busy and often overwhelming festive season. In this system, winter
corresponds with the energy of water, known for its gentleness as well as its depth. Working
with the water meridians, we can cultivate a practice that brings balance through these
cyclical changes.
We will end the session with a calming sound bath. During this deeply meditative
experience you will feel the soothing sounds from crystal singing bowls and chimes, washing
over you in comforting waves. The singing bowls produce sustained sound and vibration
which is deeply relaxing, leading to a reduction in stress and anxiety and improved sleep.
Sound meditation can also help process and release blocked energies and emotions, leaving
you with a feeling of lightness. This unique experience is sure to leave you feeling rested,
rejuvenated and ready for whatever the new year may bring.
