For the first time in 32 years I really got to know myself, my body, my mind, my capabilities not just on the mat but off as well.

My Yoga journey started in 2013 when I was 17 weeks pregnant with my first child, Harry.

At that time Yoga for me was a class that would strengthen my body enabling me to carry my unborn child safely, but the path led to so much more!  For the first time in 32 years I really got to know myself, my body, my mind, my capabilities not just on the mat but off as well.  I found it very empowering mentally, physically and spiritually (where before I had felt a little lost).

It made me so much more present!  Have you ever stopped and took a moment when you were are at your busiest and really appreciated the moment for what it is!  Well it’s lots and lots of them!!

It made me so conscious of how I reacted in situations, how I breathed and at times and how unaware I was of the most natural powerful tool we have… the breath! Stop now take 3 proper deep breaths.  You stopped, became conscious and silenced the mind even if it was for a split second.  There is a quote I love from the ancient scripture of the Bhagavad Gita, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”

I KNEW in my heart I could not keep all these wonderful teachings to myself….  I had to share them. My quest to teach led me to complete a 100-hour foundation course with the talented Carla Webster and the talented and beautiful soul Fi Shepard.  This then led me on to the 200-hour Seasonal teacher training course under the guidance of Carla Webster, Julie Hanson, Sue Wood and Marit Akintewe, inspirational teachers to no end!  I went on then to complete my Pregnancy and Post-natal teacher training with Caroline Carey and Claire Davidson who have so much experience & knowledge in all things mummy & baby.  These courses have given me good knowledge of how amazing the human anatomy is, I experienced Ashtanga, Seasonal, Pre and post-Natal Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation and it also allowed me to delve into the history and spiritual teachings of Yoga.

For me the learning will never stop I will continue to develop through further teacher training courses, workshops and practice with various teachers.  Yoga truly is for everyone and I can’t wait to share it with you!

See you on the mat!  Love Lynne  xxxxx
