With yoga ... I became calmer and more focussed when I practiced and found that the stillness it brought lasted the more I practised.
I’ve always been physically active but in 2016 I had surgery and, for some time, I couldn’t train. As a result of the surgery I had limited mobility and strength and was going mad with inactivity. I needed to do something to keep active and a friend suggested I try yoga. I couldn’t do anything other training so, I thought, "why not?".
What surprised me with yoga was that not only did I recover my fitness, strength and muscle tone but I increased my flexibility and mobility too. I also became calmer and more focussed when I practiced and found that the stillness it brought lasted the more I practised. I started my teacher training the following year and I now enjoy sharing what I’ve learnt with others whilst I continue to develop my own practice.
I haven't given up on my other fitness activities though and they’ve definitely improved as result of my practice but they are secondary to yoga.
