Imbolc: The Light Emerging from the Dark
Join yoga teacher Carla Hillman-Webster, hedge witch and storyteller Geo (That Glasgow Witch), and musician Alexandra Shrinivas for an intimate, in-person celebration of Imbolc, the festival of Brìde and the first stirring of spring.
As the land begins to quicken beneath winter’s last frost, Imbolc marks the moment when light slowly returns, hope kindles, and the year turns towards renewal. It is a time of purification, blessing, and gentle awakening, a quiet flame glowing in the darkness.
Together, we’ll honour the folk roots of this ancient Scottish festival through story, simple ritual, and Brìde’s traditional customs. We’ll weave these threads into a soft, emerging mandala flow, followed by a deeply restful yoga nidra infused with themes of purification, healing, and the tender rebirth of the season. Live fiddle will carry us throughout, echoing the first notes of returning light.
We’ll close with warming seasonal food and shared connection, marking this threshold of the year in community, devotion, and the soft brightness of Brìde’s blessing.
A gentle, luminous gathering to welcome the light back in.
